UAE announces Air Quality Agenda 2031

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCaE) of UAE on Wednesday 7 Sep  tweeted on their official social media about the National Air Quality Agenda 2031 that aims 

to reduce air pollution by adopting the latest solutions and best practices , such as:

  1. Setting national standards for reducing air pollution and compliance monitoring.

  2. Transitioning towards a green economy.

  3. Increasing the use of clean energy across various fields.

  4. Employing sustainable practices in the transport sector.

  5. Developing an air quality monitoring network and leveraging smart technologies to monitor pollutants.

 

The National Air Quality (NAQ)  platform was launched in 2020 . NAQ platform enables researchers and academics to study the impact of factors such as the desert environment, industrial progress, and population density on air quality. Through mapping the levels of air pollution in the country using information received from 31 monitoring stations across the UAE.
