UAE Announces Eid Al Fitr Holidays

The government of the UAE has declared official holidays for employees in the private sector nationwide in observance of Eid Al Fitr.

The holiday period will commence on Monday, April 8th, and conclude on the 3rd of Shawwal (or its corresponding date in the Gregorian calendar). Following the Islamic calendar, the duration of Ramadan spans either 29 or 30 days, contingent upon the sighting of the Moon. Eid Al Fitr is traditionally celebrated on the first day of Shawwal.

If Ramadan spans 30 days, the Eid holiday runs from April 8th to April 12th, offering a nine-day break with weekends included. If Ramadan lasts 29 days, the holiday spans from April 8th to April 11th, providing a six-day break, inclusive of the preceding weekend.
