UAE Confirms Eid Al Adha 2025 to Begin on June 6 After Moon Sighting

United Arab Emirates has officially announced that Eid Al Adha 2025 will commence on Friday, June 6, following the confirmed sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent moon. This lunar observation marks Wednesday, May 28, as the first day of Dhul Hijjah, the final month in the Islamic calendar.

Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society, noted that the crescent moon appeared at 7:02 AM UAE time on May 27 and remained visible for approximately 38 minutes after sunset, facilitating its sighting that evening.

Consequently, the Day of Arafah will be observed on Thursday, June 5, followed by Eid Al Adha on Friday, June 6. The UAE's official public holiday calendar designates a four-day break from June 5 to June 8, encompassing Arafah Day and the three days of Eid celebrations.

With the holiday aligning with the weekend, UAE residents can anticipate an extended period of reflection, celebration, and community gatherings.
