UAE Gears Up for Severe Weather: Remote Work Advised and Schools Shift to Online Learning

The UAE's disaster management authority has advised both private and government sector employees to consider working from home due to expected unstable weather conditions, although the decision ultimately lies with individual authorities. This recommendation follows the raising of the country's alert level and enhanced readiness to deal with the upcoming foul weather. Roads leading to flood-prone areas will be closed, and residents are advised to avoid mountain, desert, and coastal areas. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) predicts moderate to heavy rains, thunderstorms, and possible hail over the next few days, peaking on May 2 and 3. In response, some schools have opted for remote learning on May 2-3, and residents are urged to follow guidelines issued by relevant authorities.
