UAE prepared to handle future risks.
UAE was announced as one of the best-prepared nations to handle future risks according to a UN report.The studies compared the preparedness of different countries to face health, environmental, and technological risks in the future and established that a nation's readiness to handle risks depends on the efficiency of its workforce & advancements in technology. With the addition of robots being rolled out in a lot of sectors in the UAE, it's safe to say UAE is well equipped on its way to prepare for the future.
UAE drives further towards future of mobility
A new partnership between The Museum of the Future and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have been formed to showcase future mobility solutions, from personal jet packs to self-driving cars. The partnership will showcase new solutions in advanced mobility at the ‘Tomorrow, Today’ exhibition at the Museum of the Future. Visitors will have the chance to see personal jetpacks, medical drones, food delivery robots, electric bikes, electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, and more.
Eid Al Adha 2022: Likely dates announced
The International Astronomical Centre has announced the dates that Eid Al Adha is most likely to be on – Saturday July 9. This includes countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Egypt.A four-day break to mark the festival in the UAE begins one day before Eid. Known as the Day of Arafah, this year, the day would likely fall on Friday, July 8. The likely dates of the long weekend to celebrate the festival are Friday, July 8, to Monday, July 11.
Dubai Police keeps workers safe during heat rise
Represented by the Hatta Police station, the Dubai Police General Command organized the ‘Soqia Hatta’ initiative (Hatta water for a good cause) to distribute water and juices to more than 500 workers. The initiative was launched with the aim to promote values of compassion and solidarity and reach out to all segments of society.Along with the refreshments, free medical check-ups were provided to the workers too.
Today's kids, tomorrow's future
With the combining of education with entertainment, The Museum of the Future has encouraged young visitors to engage in beneficial activities at its dedicated kids’ floor at Dubai’s iconic architectural marvel, as well as giving them the tools to become the city’s future heroes. The 'Future Heroes' level is a fantasy world for children to work on and develop future skills, with its purpose to encourage young minds to make new discoveries about themselves and the world around them, through experiences such as hands-on play, and reward-based challenges, and interactive activities.
UAE Flags to be hoisted at full-mast
The 40-day official mourning period following the passing away of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will end today as UAE flags will be raised at full-mast tomorrow at 9 am as announced by The Ministry of Presidential Affairs (MoPA)
Long vacations with no changes in school calendar
No changes have been made to the end-of-year school calendar and holiday system for teachers, which will start on Monday, July 18. Hence, there is no need for educators to change the dates of their planned vacations, a top UAE educational official has clarified.
Al Fursan aerobatics galore!
Several planes of the UAE Air Force carried out a grand fly-past in Dubai on Monday. The jets flew over landmark buildings, including the Burj Khalifa, Ain Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, Kite Beach, Dubai Frame, and the Museum of the Future. Al Fursan aerobatics team flew, tumble and twirled carrying out exhilarating stunts through the air, painting the sky with smoking trails of green, white, black and red. The team has wowed audiences with several performances in the past. They usually perform on the country's National Day and their breathtaking stunts are a regular feature of major events in the UAE and at air shows across the region....
The record for youngest female to publish a book
A 5-year-old British girl earned a Guinness World Record when she published a book that she wrote and illustrated. Bella Jay Dark earned a Guinness World Record when her book, "The Lost Cat," was published when she was only 5 years and 211 days old. Her book, The Lost Cat, sold more than 1,000 copies, the minimum set by the record-keeping organization.
Mobile services for animal and plant health launched
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, on Thursday launched mobile services for animal and plant health in remote areas of the country. Mobile vans are equipped with medicines, first aid, and vaccines for animals and will further the strategy of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment to protect livestock and provide prompt service to farmers in remote areas. This initiative is aimed at ensuring sustainable development and agricultural growth & will help people to save time and effort as they will not have to transport their animals to the nearest vet clinic or hospital for certain services.
